Creating Your Future Job North Brisbane
Creating Your Future Job North Brisbane is a 7 week self-employment program for local youth aged 15 to 21 years living in the North Brisbane Region. During the program, participants will identify a local problem, brainstorm a micro-business solution and work towards making an income through self-employment.
Educators and teachers are invited to submit an expressions of interest form to host the program at their community organisation or school. The program has been made free thanks to support and funding from the Queensland Police.
The Program
5 to 7 weeks of in-person delivery for at least 1 full day per week in addition to 2 x weekend workshops
12 months of alumni engagement support
Target Cohort
Local 15 to 21 year old youth who are are disengaging from mainstream education, involved in the youth justice system and or are assessed as being at risk of entering it.
Outcome
51% of participants start a real, income generating micro-business.
90% of participants increase their financial literacy + business skills.
